For over 30 years, William Charles Macready was the preeminent actor at the Victorian theater. Known for restoring many of Shakespeare’s plays to their original language, innovations in staging and his rivalry with American actor Edwin Forest which fueled the Astor Place riots of 1984.

Macready’s extraordinary journals will be performed by Westside’s own Thomas Caron. Join us for an unparalleled inside look at the life of this historical figure.

Light refreshments served. Drop In!  Registration not required.

This program is generously funded by the West Springfield Friends of the Library.
